About Our

Editor-In- Chief

C.L. Braghini is a Cartoonist and Writer, Editor, and Instructor at the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley. She has earned degrees in both Fine Arts and English. Braghini is a creator who works on the cusp of imagery and narrative. She has previously been published in both prose and comics, created a short fiction film series, and in the middle working on finishing her first full-length speculative graphic novel that will focus on autism and parenthood. Her interest lies in stories about inheritance and strange beauties, and thus that reflects deeply in everything she does.

As founder and Editor-In-Chief of The Meat Puppet, an art and literature newspaper distributed across the country through independent bookstores like Skylight Books and Chevalier's, Braghini has edited five issues, providing thematic leadership and curating the best original short fiction and graphic narratives she can get her hands on.

She has edited work by nationally established cartoonists and conducted long-form interviews with modern day literary artists. At the core of her editorial philosophy lies the notion that fiction is alive. Fiction can mutate. It can contradict itself. Fiction can morph into any conversation...even biographies. Who am I? Why am I narrating the bio of this woman? I do not own pants. The Meat Puppet is real. Long live the puppet.
